Hunt country: The hunt country lies in South Durham and North Yorkshire between
Darlington in the north and Thirsk to the south. It borders the Zetland,
Cleveland, South Durham, Bedale and Bilsdale hunts.

A well foxed country with hedges, hunt jumps and a few walls, but plenty of wire. Some grass in the saturday country, much plough and winter cereals, some forestry in the tuesday country.
History: The Hurworth Hunt dates from around 1775, but the first official records are
from 1803.
