Covert Surveillance...

Covert Surveillance – Is there an Anti Hiding in Your Bushes?
Got any non-badger setts in your country? The League will fix that for you.
When the League thought they had obtained some incriminating footage, one of their employees called a part time monitor and member of the local badger group, who attended the scene and some time later called the police. It transpired that Mr Sheehan, an elderly, but very keen member of the local badger group, had been visiting the scene regularly in the weeks before Mr Leadbetter was filmed there. Mr Sheehan would take a trowel and dig out any holes that had become blocked with earth or leaves, and then scatter peanuts around the location, because he felt that would be a comfort to the non existent badgers that he believed lived in the holes. The fact that all badger tracks, hair and excrement found at the scene were likely to be referable to local badgers coming to eat Mr Sheehan’s peanuts, rather than proof that any badgers actually lived in the holes, was clear to any reasonable observer hearing the evidence.

The willingness of anti-hunt campaigners to believe the impossible and to fabricate evidence with a complete lack of concience never fails to amaze me.
It's a bit like the way some policemen have been tempted by being so sure in their own minds the at the accused person is guilty that it doesn't matter - nay, 'tis even a good thing - if they just help the evidence along a bit.
People who think that they occupy the moral high-ground are almost incapable of accepting that they are just as capable of being plain wrong as any of the rest of us mere mortals...

Aside from perverting the cause of justice Mr Sheehan would almost certainly be breaking the last Badger Act by setting about the earth with a trowel - the only thing saving him being the fact it wasn't a sett.

A few years ago, someone stoved in a badger sett with a spade in an attempt to set us up for a prosecution. The RSPCA were all over it, until we were able to prove conclusively that we had not been in the area at the time.
When I pointed out that whoever did do the damage was still guilty of a crime, and wouldn't the best place to start looking be whoever tried to blame it on us, they lost all interest incredibly rapidly.
Strange that...

I can just picture this - priceless (on this occasion)

I know it is a bit of topic but you have probably finished this now.
Prompted by this thread I Googled ''Covert filming'
The first site on the list is fascinating in what it offers. Quite disturbing really.
Beware people with rucksacks!
I am sure everyone else has seen this by now but it is new to me as a result of this Googling -

Here in Canada last week we had a federal minister "pie'd" in the face by a People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA-does this exist in the UK?) representative.
PETA and the Humane Society of the United States are the two biggest treats to foxhunting in North America, as far as radical actions on the part of PETA and hidden agendas through HSUS and political endorsement.
The minister was attacked during a press conference and the PETA member cited the reason for the protest being our federal Conservative's view on the seal hunt. The sab. was charged with assult thankfully.
